Not a Quick Fix
The plumbing issue is resolved. While it was what we thought: the faucet locked up due to lack of use, it wasn't a quick fix. Fortunately, we still have internet service at the house. I felt sorry for the poor plumber. He wound up having to replace the faucet. Normally, he would have cut an access panel from the wall on the other side. Unfortunately, the wall directly behind the bathtub is actually the tiled wall of the shower in the master bath. The plumber had to work through a relatively small hole--probably about 6 inches by 6 inches. This resulted in a couple of extra trips as a couple of screws fell behind the wall. On the plus side, he stuck to his original estimate.
The original estimate would have been higher had the buyer's realtor not been there and started asking question after question. I like their realtor.
In any case, by 4pm this afternoon, the faucet was fully installed:

All in all, it wound up being a good day. I was able to attend all of my meetings and get several items off my work to-do list, and the buyers are satisfied with the new faucet, the inspection item is cleared, and we should be ready to start the slow march to the closing in late July.

Settling In
We have the results of the house inspection back, and the buyers only had one request. I'm meeting a plumber and their agent at the house tomorrow morning to look at the shower faucet in one of the bathrooms. We think it is just frozen since we rarely used that shower. Hopefully, it will not wind up being a deal breaker.
We still have part of the garage to clean out. Geff worked on it yesterday. Today, we re-arranged the storage unit we rented when cleaning out his childhood home so that we can fit a few items in the garage in there so that they are relatively close to us.
This afternoon, we worked on making the rental house feel a little more like home. Geff hung some pictures on the wall with Command Strips since we cannot use nails, while I worked on cleaning my office/craft room. Tonight, we watched the Colorado Avalanche win the Stanley Cup.

I had to chuckle. I originally started this blog as a way to motivate myself to clean up my craft room. Apparently, for me, moving is a more effective way to clean as I think some of the mess is now in storage.

Finally Under Contract
We found out we had COVID toward the end of the week the movers arrived. While definitely mild cases, it did slow our full move out considerably. We managed to finish cleaning out the rest of the house so that the new paint and carpet could be put in. The house definitely looked better.

We were finally able to list it on May 25. Unfortunately, the housing marking had already slowed due to the rising interest rates. Over the next few weeks, we worked on cleaning in the garage, maintaining the yard, and watching as we would get a couple of showings over the weekend. This week, we lowered the price, and this morning, we received two great offers. We are now officially under contract!
We contacted the lender, and even though the rates have climbed since we first began this journey, we should still be in decent shape for our loan.
Next steps: finish cleaning out the garage and maintaining the yard and wait to see what comes back in the inspection.
For now, though, we are settled into our rental house a block away from my mother-in-law. A side benefit has been a shorter commute. I have definitely gotten used to that already.
The Turf Makes a Huge Difference
I'm finally caught up on older posts. I took this photo this morning, just after the front lawn had been put in. I'm loving it.

Sometimes, we see things (that the builder goes ahead and fixes) that just make us twinge. On this particular day, it was the downspouts.....
