Framing Has Started!

On Wednesday, Geff sent me some photos that he had taken after he finished working for the day.  The workers were putting in the sub-flooring.

The house is a lot closer to the western property edge than the old house was.  Hello privacy fence!

Today, we stopped while the workers were on a lunch break to take some more photos of the progress. The walls are starting to go up!

Taken from the drive way--the garage is in the southeast corner of the house

It looks so much different when it is built at scale.  It is wider than I expected, but not quite as deep.

We opted for a slightly smaller garage since we plan on building a separate garage for a woodworking shop.

I am really looking forward to having the laundry room on the main floor of the house.  No more hauling laundry up a flight and a half of stairs!  As a bonus, we're having a laundry sink installed that will double as a dog washing station.  Ruckus and Smokey may be less thrilled than I am.

In this next photo, two bedrooms and the second bathroom are in the back left area, to the left of the laundry room and stair well.  The kitchen and dining room will be in front of the garage, laundry, and stairs.

The Turf Makes a Huge Difference

I'm finally caught up on older posts.  I took this photo this morning, just after the front lawn had been put in.  I'm loving it.
